They are ineffective and often powerless, but they are needed.

I don't really know. I'm never invited to any of their meetings.   :tard:

Israel is not defending itself. They build settlements in areas they know might get bombed, seeing as how they had to bulldoze palestinians villages and push them out to get the land. Its the same tactic the US govt had- they encouraged settlers to build on the frontier in areas where they were likely to be attacked by "hostile" Indians. Then they brought in militia men to "defend" the settlements and drive the natives farther back. Israel does the same with palestine. If they really cared about the welfare of their people they would stop moving them into disputed territory. They are using their own people as collateral.

The us was corrupt as shit. You know they would  instigate conflict between native villages and settlers...by attacking natives, or even their own people, to incite retaliation and so forth. No doubt Israel is employing the same tactics. Inciting bitterness so that the people could not easily diplomatically fix things themselves.

Palestinians include jews, muslims, and christians...and the area is holy land for many peoples. When govts are not fcking up shit, they can learn to get along.

Yes.  These people are getting clattered to fuck.  They don't have much electric at all.  They are defiant,  brave and possibly stupid.

Both sides seem unwilling to quit.

It's incomprehensible that neither side seems to want to.

For the most part I agree, but I also feel that whatever side has the advantage would do the same.

The US was corrupt as shit, SG ?

It still is :P

Countries would be far better off all running themselves, by the people that live in them, rather than central governments. We need to scrap the idea and free ourselves from the entrenched view that we NEED governments as though we were all too stupid to survive on our own without some paternalistic big brother to carrot-and-stick us into behaving anything but stupidly.

Our (UK) govt. is just a bunch of thieves, liars, crooks and paedophiles interested in power for its own sake, and lining their own pockets. Fuck the cunts.

Why yes. It was, it is, and as far as I can tell, it always will be. That little bit of "hope" people hang onto with regards to the government is the devil's concoction. Folks drink it up like Kool-Aid.

We really do need to unchain ourselves from the current way of thinking, that governments are needed, or even benign. They are universally parasitic, power hungry, and willing to murder anybody, even their own citizens, if it suits or advances their aims, or to consolidate their grip upon power.

Sooner we boot the thieving, lying piss-guzzlers out of office and strip them of any pensions, salaries, perks and the like the better. Long may they fucking well rot.

IMO certain things do need a policy-maker and enforcer, such as organizations like the CDC, to ensure a robust and rapid response to things like the current panic about ebola virus outbreaks, enforce quarantines if needs be, but IMO those sorts of things should have small, yet dedicated units qualified to run the show, to run that and nothing else. That way they cannot get tempted to get greedy for power as they might if one organization centrally administered every such point of requirement.

One requirement=one administrative arm dedicated to its upkeep and running, which does not have power over others outside its specific jurisdiction, and which is not privatized; as we all know, that would lead to cost-cutting which means corner-cutting and a shabby job of it to increase profits. Such vital situational response organizations cannot be permitted, as I see things, to make a profit at all, if they have no profits, just a budget to expend upon their purpose of existence, and payment of a fixed salary for their workers then they cannot become tempted to slash quality and reliability in order to line their pockets using the money intended to fund the services and/or research that they exist to render.
Beyond the pale. Way, way beyond the pale.

I don't know.  The UN seems ineffective.

It doesn't just seem ineffective. It is completely useless.

But imagine a world without them. What do you think would happen?

There would be no more ultimate weapon to point at people who do not agree with filthy statist agendas. There would probably be a series of wars, but the eventual realization of who the actual conspirators are. After seeing their loved ones be murdered in cold blood and having an unfiltered view of other cultures without the "multiculturalist" crap the UN is always pushing because of fuckface beauracrats trying to lobby a utopia or something, the nationalist types will finally realize they have been pitted against each other on purpose and work together to defeat their real enemy.

Democracy will die. The primitive, Romanesque lynch mob structure will be thrown away and a new age would dawn. On top of all that, fuck her right in the pussy.
