Planning to watch Frank Herbert's Dune in a bit.
One of my favorites.
(I know, it leaves the books behind, but I still like it)
The one by David Lynch? But... but...
Which cinematic effort would you recommend for an addition to my collection?
Anything? Or something by David Lynch? The only thing Lynch did that I considered worth my while was that Nicholas Cage film that I can't remember the name of (and can't be arsed to look up).
A google of those two names together takes me directly to
Wild At Heart from '90.
Does that sound right? (my wife likes Nicholas Cage, but not many his movies.
)
If anything, try a terrific Russian film from 2003 named "The Return". Fantastic film, excellent DVD transfer without the eleventeen answer and intermediate prints to fuck up the quality.
I searched my local library database and found that they have two copies on order of the English language version. (No fair, I don't speak Russian! Actually, I almost always watch
House of Flying Daggers in the native language and since I've seen it so many times, I skip the English subtitles usually.
)
I got excited at first, because the library has a DVD by that title, but with a later production date, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar (
) ... not the same film.
The Return sounds like a very interesting film. Terrible that one of the young actors drowned not long after completion.
I will look that one up for sure!
Thanks.
... but what I really meant was which "Dune" should I get.
(both of us)
