Watching the movie 'The American' on the telly, I am, at the moment. Not the best of films maybe but I like 'm. Not that fast a pace, 'très sec' camera work/shootings, nice scenery (the north of Italy), quiet-ish sound-wise, blah..

The third, again a bit annoying commercial break, is what's happening at present.

My cat play in the sunlight.

She's in her morning mode...racing through the house like a nut. The male is hiding under the sofa trying to sleep in.

Since I downgraded to the cheapest cable plan, I have been watching Law and Order reruns round the clock!  :tard:

That sounds like an excuse to stop postwhoring. :police:

I can do both!  I can post from my bedroom while listening to the TV down the hall!   :yarly:

S. Leone's 'For a few dollars more'. A western with good old Clint Eastwood. On the telly that is.

I'm watching Rick Stein's India. Admire the man but I'm not really into India's culture or its cuisine. Noisy, chaotic and überly complicated it appears to me. Mad.

Well, I have to admit to becoming almost obsessed again with Hang Drum music.

I was really into it when it became popular about ten years ago. (the instrument was fairly new then) I had a whole "world music fetish"  thing going on. I was prompted to again explore more music from all over the globe than I had for a few years.

Anyway there are amazing artists who have taken this instrument to higher levels these days.

I have been going through youtube half the morning, enjoying Hang Drum artists.

Try this link, for an instance and go from there:

(Sorrry, not sure how to make it loook like a yooutube vid, but that is what the link represents.)

Iff you search a litttle for hang music, you willl find much to enjoy!

^ If you want the video to show here (or where ever) just remove the 's' from the url. Instead of 'https' make it: http://www etc etc and the window will pop up (most likely).

Also find some of the handpan music quite fascinating, I must say.

Thank you. I edited the post. I had two things wrong. Your suggestion worked perfectly after I removed one too many [ url ] thingies.

Wow, that's pretty awesome. A lot more melodic than I was expecting.

Yeah, kind of amazing what awesome music they can get out of an upside down wok or whatever they are.

I looked into buying one, but they are nearly two thousand dollars to start. I also found a slew of vids on making your own, but it is far more work than the first glimpse might indicate.

There is another type of hand drum that is made similarly, but out of more substantial metal and it has partial cut outs of varying sizes. The cut outs are in a shape that resembles a leaf, with the stem end still connected to the drum resonant chamber. You slap these partially cut out areas and it vibrates the entire drum. The size of the cut makes a difference in the tone. To me these things sound more like a calimba than a handpan or a steel drum.

Still very intriguing! Very relaxing sound.
