The maintenance aspect worries me more than the pilot errors, to be honest. Lots of things a careless tech can forget when servicing a plane.
I tend to like flying. A little turbulence used to be enough to make me worry but I've pretty much gotten used to it.
On my way back from Montréal last year, there was turbulence pretty much all the way from the Trudeau airport to Heathrow. All eight hours of it. At first, the pilot would lit the seatbelts on sign as soon as the plane started shaking a little, but I got the feeling that when breakfast was being served on board some time before landing and the plane started jumping around for the umpteenth time he could no longer be arsed.
