I scored really high on the IQ test in elementary school. Killed half of my brain cells in high school though.  :stoned:

Did you have to leave Mensa? :zoinks:

Never any mention of that. My parents DID get a phone call about it though...probably something like, "she actually has a brain, we found it" or "we think she may have cheated on an IQ test".

I hated school, I never studied, but always managed to pull off a passing grade on every test that half the class would bomb.

That's what I did with everything I wasn't interested in.

Used to sometimes pay other people to do the stuff not interested in.

You need to read the article for full effect. It reads like a parody of gun-control advocates criticizing gun availability.

I wonder how many deaths cigarettes cause per year in Australia. :GA:

Ceilidh was told in school she had "near total recall" which is pretty cool.
I failed three years of high school and was told not to attempt uni entrance.

Ending this thread:

It is NOT the pools which kill children; it is the inattentive parents that allow tragedy to occur.

Horror, TEH HORROR!

... but be real folks. It is NOT the pool's fault.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

Never did that, me.

But I remember a particularly boring course at the uni, numerical analysis using Fortran (this was the first half of the 80s). I couldn't be arsed to do the lab assignments so I hacked my way into the superuser account and, um, borrowed the code from there.

Good times.

Usually did my own basic assignments, while in other classes. Just wasn't the homework type; had better things to do, so sometimes paid for big stuff like essays and research papers.

That numerical analysis stuff was an exception--I did my assignments properly, for the most part.

It's an argument gun rights advocates have used for years, far more kids die by drowning in swimming pools than die due to guns, unless of course, you're black.
