Nope. I'm a gopher. Write it down.  :lol1:

There's no pen with this computer, only a mouse.  Are you a mouse?  :zoinks:

Only if mouses are gophers.  :zoinks:

Mouses? :tard: Perhaps you meant "mice". :zoinks:

Nope. I meant groundhogs.  :zoinks:

Fixed. :M

You need to read the article for full effect. It reads like a parody of gun-control advocates criticizing gun availability.

I wonder how many deaths cigarettes cause per year in Australia. :GA:

That cigarette problem could be easily solved if they just made them illegal then nobody would be able to get them  :zoinks:

That's an excellent idea!  Look how well it's worked with alcohol and drugs!   :snowman:

Well it would if there was a mandatory death penalty for violators  :M

If it saves just one life it will be worth it.

Had one of those blow up side pools when the kid was little...big one.
Spent 75% of my time cleaning it, the other 90% watching the neighbor kids swim in it while mine played with the hose, and the rest of the time fixing the pump and taking it down and cleaning it for winter.  :voodoo:

Thankfully the fucker finally collapsed. I bought the kid a sprinkler. He spent more time playing in it than he ever did the pool.  :dunno:

I think I'll get a kiddy pool for the back deck this summer. :apondering:

There are some pretty strict rules here about fencing around pools so little kids can't get to them. Since Google Earth has been around, the authorities can easily find out who has a pool and whether or not they have a fence around it.

The problem is a complicated one. The reason is that here is a number of problems contribute to the deaths.

1) Poorly supervised kids.
2) Pools built before a certain time when pool restrictions and safety regulations were lax.
3) Pool security that is damaged (broken locks on pool fence or what have you)
4) Pools simply not installed as to the restriction or "modified" after passing the safety regulations.
5) Sometimes despite all of this, a determined kid with a mind may find themselves drowned despite all safety precautions.

That should be illegal. Here, aerial photography is a Constitutionally tricky question.

This article is actually thanks to me. Several years ago I posted a gun-control parody about swimming pools on a Swedish board. Some months later there was an article in a Swedish newspaper - obviously missing the irony in my post - about how dangerous swimming pools were. Now it seems that it has reached all the way to Australia, where people thankfully understood the irony and the absurdity of gun-control.

By the way: more people are actually drowned in swimming pools than killed by guns - even in America. Yet I have never heard any serious suggestion about banning or even restricting swimming pools.

The cigarette argument is also good: in Sweden less than 80 people a year are killed by guns, while more than 8000 are killed by smoking. Yet it is tobacco that only has an age limit of 18 years and guns that are controlled draconically.

Child deaths in pools are largely (but not 100% of the time) caused by these things.

1. Dumb fucks not having child safe pool fences
2. Dumb fucks not supervising their kids properly
3. Dumb fucks in a country with lots of access to swimming facilities not teaching their kids to swim and about water safety

But for some reason it isn't ok to point out to people that they are dumb cunts. However it is okay to legislate to prevent their dumb cuntery.

I've said this many times before but the world would be a much better place if people had their idiocy pointed out to them.
