* purposefulinsanity wonders why people seem to place so much importance on looks when judging people's hotness. That's not to say they don't matter at all but haven't you ever found someone who you wouldn't normally find attractive hot because of what they were like as a person?
Sure. I wasn't attracted to my ex when I first got to know her. It took a couple of years of us becoming close friends before I developed an attraction towards her, and it was based on my respect for her, and the way she was nice to me (not so nice these days, sadly, thus part of the reason for the exness), her intelligence, and her general personality. Physically, she's pretty average; it's only with the other stuff that she became attractive.
With stuff like this though, when we don't have the luxury of spending years getting to know someone, judgements have to be more shallow, and physical appearances have more weight.
