I probably wasn't accepting of "gays" either until I actually met one.  I was fortunate that occurred when I was 15.  By the time I was 18 I was working at Disney World and at least a third of my co-workers were gay.  To be serious for a second, intolerance really pisses me off.  That you are as open about who you are makes me happy, and I hope you are as open IRL

evolution is NOT a constant fact. it happens where its prompted to happen, and for some creatures do not evolve, because their environment dont prompt it: like bacteria, like fish (reptiles evolved from some fish, but not from others. some fish simply remain fish) chimps, they didnt evolve into humans, but stayed chimps, dogs and cats evolve from mungoose-like animals - - - and mungoose like animals still exist, in their old "unevolved" shape.

the best way to illustrate this is:

approx 6 million years ago, creatures as good as identical to chimpanzees lived in vast jungles. these jungles retreated, and created "bottlenecks" for these populations.
the affected populations nearly died out, but only nearly-enough to leave a variation of surviving populations, surviving cus of their odd traits. these would become the varied selection of "proto humans" (wiki it, human evolution isnt linear)
HOWEVER
the areas NOT affected, the areas that remained jungle, such as the congo, still has "the original chimp-like creatures", the chimps.

That's a nice strawman you've constructed. First, I never claimed that mutations are the same as evolution. Mutations drive evolution.

Evolution may occur when there is variation of inherited traits within a population. The major sources of such variation are mutation, genetic recombination and gene flow.

You want me to make my definitions explicit? Here is a definition of evolution.

Human hunting of big-tusked elephants, have erradicated all genes for the growth of long tusks, however:
Resulting in all living elephants sporting short tusks.
THAT is evolution.
It is not the existence of random mutation, but when a collective of these mutations result in a NEW COLLECTIVE of the SAME mutation...

What I am saying is that genetic variation occurs within a population. Certain genes have an impact on reproductive success. In these cases, organisms with different genes experience differential reproductive success. This process is evolution.

Someone, somewhere, several years ago about the fact that more homosexuals are conceived in war years and locations than in peace time.  I don't know if any more research has been done or if it's been disproven, but it would seem to indicate that homosexuality is not a choice in all cases.

Ive never understood why anybody thinks homosexuality is a choice at all. Why would anyone choose to be something that is only likely to cause heartbreak and unhappiness to themselves and many of the people around them.
