I LOVE salmiak. Liquorice in any form is a bit of a vice of mine. My favourites being either chilli pepper-impregnated salt liquorice, or these little tiny liquorice and capsaicin pellets called 'negroids'
Tiny little square-oblong black pellets, rock hard and fiery. I'm just munching on some of those now actually.
I'd happily munch on liquorice by the pound, were it not for the effects of glycyrrhizin, the sweet component of liquorice, or one of them. As it fucks with corticosteroid production in large quantities and can lead to high blood pressure, water retention etc, when mineralocorticoid function starts going squirrely.
