Actually, I never log off, here. A few times I have when I was re-starting, but I usually just let it "log me off" by timing out my session. Is that bad in some way? I thought the log-in procedure was accomplished merely by a cookie exchange.

I thought you meant you'd set your browser to keep refreshing the page even when you were away from your PC like nomaken does.  Just failing to log out isn't cheating cos the site logs you off after 15 minutes anyway.
