Poor robin. Your weird springlike weather followed by a cold snap even confused the birds.
No doubt to me about their confusion, especially considering the fact that there are at least seven unfinished nests being constructed already. We get cardinal, dove and robin nests in the yard and countless numbers of finch, sparrow, and wren nests, but those are too tiny to notice, unless you are looking for them, which I have been doing.
It's sad, because there's nothing for them to eat, except from a few feeders around the neighborhood, but most of the idiots who put out feeders in the spring, and get flocks of wild birds depending on them, forget about the feeders and the birds, during the winter, when the birds really need some help to survive in our concrete jungles. I have tried to shame the neighbors into not putting out their stupid feeders at all, but most people just laugh at me and tell me that all the dead birds are dead from bird flu. Fucking morons!
