Are you suggesting that a similar property exists with the very notion of "gun ownership?"

I would suggest that the property is reflexive.  Random public (in general) has shown to be focused on the fact that people are shot by guns, but in reality, the number of those shot by guns are most likely to be those who do not carry "guns" who a summarily shot by random people carrying guns.


NOT Carrying a gun for your own protection makes your chances of being shot similar to fifty/fifty. But carrying your own gun, assuming you know hot to use it, reduces your chances of being shot by a significant amount. We must assume that one tends to use a gun ONLY for self preservation, to keep the equations similar.

I only keep my own pistol, strapped to my body, for self defense, I assure you. ...   and   ... In all my long years, I have only had to use it twice.
