What sort of mushies bodie?
I love picking when they are in season. Been meaning to get round to getting myself some P.cubensis spores and starting a few cultures.
Liberty caps and wavy caps are my usual though (although when picking wavy caps* then great care must be taken due to two other woodloving genera, namely Galerina spp. and Conocybe filaris. Both of which can look EXTREMELY similar to wavy caps visually; and often grow intermixed with the shrooms one seeks yet contain the same lethal, liver-annihilating amatoxins found in the notorious death cap, and other deadly poisonous Amanita spp., indeed I have personally found both C.filaris AND Galerina autumnalis on the very same.
These two toxic genera contain amatoxins for the most part, but unlike all Psilocybes they have a rust brown spore print, as opposed to the violet-black of the latter genus; so its ESSENTIAL to print the lot, each and every single carpophore onto tinfoil. Which of course is worth the wait anyway as those spores can then be used to grow cultures from which woodchip beds can then be spawned ensuring a further supply of both mushrooms and more prints to grow yet more spawn to grow from.
*Psilocybe cyanescens, a cold-weather fruiting woodlover, known for its extreme potency....heh, one time collecting with my hellbitch fuckup queen of the perditionwhores squirrel/fire when she was my housemate. We took our harvest back and cleaned them of twigs and other woodchip and plant debris. We had not yet taken a single mushroom, but the mere prolonged skin contact with the damp mushrooms resulted in dinnerplate-wide eyes, and a mild trip all on its own, with nothing more than handling the mushrooms.
