What kind of kids do you have that don't give their dad a birthday present?
That's on their mother, really! Yes, my kids said, "Happy Birthday!" and acknowledged me. It was the first day of school, too! But no matter how much their mother and I don't get along, I will always at least have the kids do a special project for her and help them buy presents if they wish.
My sister called and my old apartment-mate from college, whose birthday was two days earlier and we used to celebrate together on the 2nd, which happens to be my son's birthday now, called after I complained here, but my father didn't call...although he hasn't in years. His 93 year old mother just died a week ago, and given his fucked up perception that she was a good person that he spent his life trying to please and never could, I suppose I am not surprised. For the record, that bitch hated my Mum and refused to come to their reception and never liked my sister and me. I picked up on the latter as a kid, but found out from relatives after my Mum died in 2008 at 59 (she never would have told us) about the first part.
Whatever...
