Oh, the saying about sheep differs from the one about dogs in that the "bleating sheep" are advertising how awesome and good they are, and then comes the deception, there is barely anything true.

He has removed the rotting fruit and vegetables from the kitchen now, but it's too late. The house still swarms with flies and smells like utter shit, probably due to shabby clean up, and pieces of vegetable hidden around the house, rotting. The bathroom also stinks of rotting vegetables

I went out to throw away garbage today, and opening the can, there were a bunch of white fucking maggots crawling all over the edges, I've never seen that before, the whole time I've lived here

Time for fly traps.
Fruitflies like to drown themselves in a bit of wine. Other flies somehow like similar stuff as wasps. My wasp trap gets filled with flies all the time.
Somehow we still have lots of flies in this house, even when the amount of livestock at both neighbours has been more than decimated. So, got a home-made wasp-trap in the corner of my windowsill now. Works best of all traps, so far. No flies here in the mornings.

And a cleaning spree has to happen. If he doesn't know how, maybe you will have to. Otherwise the mice will be coming in for winter in flocks too.

There's a man in my neighbourhood in his mid-50's who wears huge 70's sunglasses and his mode of transportation is this 80's styled bike with a banana seat. It cracks me up every time I see him because it's like someone timewarped him in from another decade.
