The angst and guilt that kind of thinking can create in those with big hearts is unbearable. (SG )For others it is used as an excuse to justify a lack of effort to resolve their problems. This topic reminds me of one time, someone explained to me this is why they watch Jerry Springer, to feel like they're 'not so bad'. It's kind of the same think, not even sure what to call it. Just because there's someone somewhere in the world who has it worse, doesn't truly have reflection on me. My ex loves that stuff. He called it self-fulfilling television. Then I would tell him to quit using words he doesn't understand. Nothing "fulfilling" about being self-righteous enough to believe that being able to look down on someone justifies one's own faults. The viewer is no more fulfilled after viewing than they were before. I'd say "deluding" would be more appropriate. Self-Deluding Egovision? Too long. Let's just call it shit.

Have no need to trivialize my own problems by comparing them to things out of my control.
I have occasionally watched telly of that ilk but I view it more as a latter day freak show or like a trip to the zoo. I don't need to watch a bunch of silliness to feel good about myself.

You'll never self-actualize the subconscious canopy of stardust with that attitude.
This is a message board, not a ouija board

I insist. Plain vanilla ftw.
Jesus died on the cross to show us that BDSM is a legitimate form of love.
There is only one truth and it is that people do have penises of different sizes and one of them is the longest.
Don't you mean Steak 'n Shake?

It's bloody good! This reminds me of what comedian Sabrina Matthews said about Denny's ... that it exists to feed "the completely exhausted and the totally wasted and nobody else!"
