It really irks me, because now I can't look at my baby animal pictures thread, or my random pictures thread, or my quote pyramid thread

Could you still view that thread? I was having problems loading it.

I hardly know what is going on.

Apparently Bloke got into a scuffle and Amy banned him, permanently.

Then El-prez started a thread "Bring Bloke Back"....there was shitton of support for bloke- we all love him, minus a few members who remained neutral.

Then that thread got locked.

So I created a thread "BLOKE" to basically continue el-prez's thread since his got locked.

Next thing I know the site is down.

Is this something like a "five years itch" at AFF?

Shutting down the site, and Bloke being permabanned, and people supporting him. And, most and for all, Amy going out of her mind, looks like something that happened in July/August 5 years ago.

Have there been admins banned too?

There were no admins or mods other than Gareth and Amy. We had one, but he quit shortly before this happened.

Amy had posted that the site ran fine with two admins and no mods.

It appears AFF is completely gone. When I go there it asks me to install Java to access an applet.

There is no AFF message or anything.

Is it gone? Just like that?

I don't think it's gone forever. They redirected the AFF URL to point to chatautism, which is AFF's IRC channel. They probably intend for AFF members to chat on it.

As far as I know, you can connect to the channel through any IRC client. They just include a browser-based one.

As far as I know, you can connect to the channel through any IRC client. They just include a browser-based one.

I use chrome so there is java in the browser.... but it says I have to let the app access my computer, and it warns me that it is an unsafe app, so I am not doing it. WHat if they give me a virus? :/
