Yeah Rhyl is North Wales. The station before is Prestatyn and the train goes onto Holyhead - where the ferry goes to Ireland.
I went there loads as a kid.
I was feeling guilty about him not seeing the sea yet and got fed up waiting for his Dad to take us. I knew he would love it. He does this thing when he gets really excited, his arms go really straight and he opens and closes his hands, and he did it when he saw the sea. It was really cute.
He is a lovely kid when he is like that. All confident. He talks to anyone. He went upto a group of teenagers and he said "See that sea there, well an hour ago I was in it. It was blue then. I
know it looks grey now, but it
was blue and I
was in it" and the girls in the group were saying to me "aww isn't he lovely, I want to take him home"
He got all excited in the arcades too. He loves those 2penny games, like these
I had about a fiver's worth and said "here, fill your boots son" and he was in heaven for half hour.
