We're supposed to get a HUGE snowstorm, accompanied by some ICE, on Wednesday. If I disappear at that time,
you can safely assume I've lost my electricity and am counting the days till I can get back online!   :snowman:
Will your heating system still work, without electricity?

No. I'll have hot water, but my apartment will otherwise be cold. And dark. Must get a flashlight!  :police:

Take candles, they look great and give some warmth too.

it's still raining here. We won't have any snow soon, if it continues to rain. :woohoo:

Just above freezing point, after a frosty day, and drizzling. Slippery weather.

It is just fucked. All ice coming down for more than twenty four hours.  It is building up to be a ridiculous winter event Three inches of ice on my car this morning.  No way to sholvel this shit off the steps - it is fucking solid ice!!

It is just fucked!!

Weather is just fucked!!

Allow me to repeat:

Weather is mostly fucked.
Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

That's fucked indeed. How are trees and electricity cables holding?

So far we still have electricity, but many have already lost theirs.

I have half my car covered by the evergreen leaves of the tree I park next to. Had not even occurred to me taht I was hurting the tree, but when I tried to leave work, I saw that the entire side of my car is covveerrred with leavves from teh tree I park next to.
 :-[

emabarrassed as fuck!!

I did hear her cry as i wheeled my car into a position where I could make my windows clear. I hate winter!!

We hardly have ice-rains as heavy as that. But bit more than a decade ago, most of the trees in the area I grew up were reduced to just their stems, because of ice-rains. Very sad sight, also in the summer to follow. So bare and broken.

Right now, you can hardly see across the alley-way, because it is coming down so heavyily.

I parked my car at about four-ish and it was mostly cleaned off where you need to look out to dive, but now it is covered in another inch of ice. I have lost two huige maple branches. My evergreens are all pressed toward the ground.

I feel that the evergreens will be fine, except for the branches that succumb to the weight of the ice, because they are mostly still growing and active inside.  Any of my deciduous trees are basically fucked, however, along with their spring flower show.

At least there are very few trees left to fall on my street. We lost some in the ice storm of December '08,
and a bunch more were cut down the following year during an infestation of Asian longhorned beetles.
So maybe this time I won't lose power.   :chin:
