Turned cold overnight. 14F/-10C and enough humidity to ice crystal over everything.
Approaching 9AM, sun has been up a bit and still just 16F out there.

No more yard work for me today. Splitting more wood can wait for a while!

Supposed to turn cold. Now it is just below freezing.
With the winter weather coming, we are supposed to get a little snow. We'll get 4" to 6" forecast says and that ain't shit.
Nearer to the Great Lakes, those folks are in for a winter time ride it seems.
Lake effect snow is a rough thing.

I know there are some from other lands who do not know that just Lake Michigan for instance is 118 miles wide and 307 miles long. (I looked it up to be sure). The Great Lakes create a kind of micro climate of their own, so to speak.
SO, folks near the water are going to get a lot more snow (quadruple or more is normal) than us living here a hundred and fifty miles away.

Yeah, snow has stopped, but we woke up to the coldest temperature it has been since 2019. It was down to -14F/-25C and 30 MPH winds, somewhat dangerous if caught out.
I had to get the car going to drive my son to work at 7AM. For some reason his work store did not just close like everyone else with brains.
Fortunately for me, the drifts went right by my front door and most of "my" snow was against my neighbor's blank side wall.

Not warming until after the weekend. Right now, -3F/-19C at the heat of the afternoon. Wind still blowing, but not like overnight.
Roads are hardly right for travel.

Nice, 24.3°C and cloudy at 11:10am. Going to heat up to the low 30s during the week, though. I plan to stay indoors. I'm glad we had a mild Christmas for once.

Much "warmer" with 18F/-8C, a clear sky and some sun forecasted.

Even the wind has slowed down. Expecting all this cold to go away in a few days. Should make it above freezing tomorrow for a high. Then even more warmth to come.

I know; winter just started and there are months more to come.
