30C is hot.
Official weather forecast for the coming weekend is 6 to 15 Celsius in the city. Now in a lot of parts of the world that barely qualifies as "cool", but here we've got people getting around with beanies and puffer jackets.
When I lived in the UK I would see people getting around in summer clothes when the weather was 10 degrees colder than this, but all they were doing was walking from one overheated place to another. Here, most places aren't heated and the cold air just blows straight through a lot of indoor public areas. And we've got a lot of immigrants now from warmer climates, so for them this is cold.
I remember walking home from work in Jakarta a few times after an all-nighter, during the "cool" season, when it was about 23 or 24 Celsius at 5 am. The security guards out the front of the buildings would have their jackets on and be folding their arms and jumping up and down to stay warm.
