Our winter came late, as well. It felt like spring in December.

Our skies are pure grey with no indication of where the sun might be - very thick cloud cover. Right around freezing.Supposed to get a bunch of snow and then stupid cold early next week.

It is really shitty out there. Just below freezing, but there has been ice and sleet falling all day. Every tree, every power line is covered with ice. Ice everywhere.
We were supposed to get a bunch of snow and had all this freezing rain come down as snow we wold be buried in around twelve inches of the white shit. I would rather have had the snow than this ice ball crap.

Roads are treacherous; I just dropped my daughter off for work.

Seems to be changing over to all snow, but the damage is done. With the power lines covered in so much ice and wind on the way, I am worried about the electricity going down.

Just came in from sitting on the porch.  57 F (about 15C)with 15 mph (about 24 kph) wind.  Coffee was getting too cold too fast so I came in.

Thankfully, the restaurant where my daughter works closed early due to the inclement weather approaching.
It is cold now, 17F-8C and it is snowing sideways. Massive north wind and heavy snow with quite a bit of drifting.

What really pisses me off most though is that I ran past probably ten or more county trucks and they were not employing their blades. Only three trucks I saw had their blades down. WTF!!

Some are just driving around, making overtime and not doing anything. Those assholes are just milking our tax teats for all they can get.


Forgot to mention that my crossover SUV fucking rocks in this kind of horrid weather.

Darwin up at the top of Australia is nearish to the equator and they have tropical weather there.

The reason why we get so hot in Perth is because we get the wind off the desert. At least that's what I gathered from watching the weather forecasts on tv. Got to 37°C here today. Now it's 33.4°C and sunny at 3:50pm.

How hot did it get where you are?

It's been pretty mild up until now, with maximums in the mid 20s. That's been nice. We are supposed to get a windy, rainy day on Wednesday. I would like to see that.
