I wonder how many of you already know the name 'Vivian Maier' I had not even heard of her until last week. I found her work, and her story to be fascinating and thought i would share.
Vivian Dorothea Maier (February 1, 1926 – April 21, 2009) took many photo's. Street photo's. She didn't show them to anyone. They were discovered after her death in 2009. Many of them had not been developed. Just rolls and rolls of film.
You can read more about her
http://www.vivianmaier.com/about-vivian-maier/"She was a Socialist, a Feminist, a movie critic, and a tell-it-like-it-is type of person. She learned English by going to theaters, which she loved. She wore a men's jacket, men's shoes, and a large hat most of the time. She was constantly taking pictures, which she didn't show anyone." a description by one of the many children she was a nanny to in Chicago.
