Flint arrowheads
« on: June 15, 2013, 05:20:49 PM »
One is from peru. (most likely made for tourism) the other in the bail is from Missouri. Its a genuine Arrowhead from a real indian in times past. The guy told me that when they plow the fields over there they occasionally will find one.

I paid $20 for both of these.

I have been told that where I walk Max along the river is a good place to find them but I have yet to find any.  The area was the site of a large summer camp back before Europeans came, there is even an archeological survey  report at the library that they did before building on some of the land

Yeah, I think there a lot like teeth. you lose them, only to get new ones. and also If you think about it I'm sure a ton of them were made because of various things. Some were broken easily, lost damaged etc. I think they can be found almost anywhere really you just have to know where to look

I have heard that owing a real one is considered bad luck but I don't believe that

A few others laying around somewhere...this is the majority of them. Mostly Seneca and Iroquois in the area we used to hunt. The bigger ones where hard to find intact, the plow got a lot of them.

Look around after a rain when the ground is still wet, otherwise they tend to blend in fairly well.

Wow, that is an awful lot of arrowheads. Nice! My dad found a few, it was his job to roam the fields and watch the soil.

I did have a few scraping knife pieces of flint, when I was a kid. Don't know where they are now.
I can do upside down chocolate moo things!

That's an amazing collection you have there.  :viking:
