Some dude at work tried to convert me to Christianity.  Lol.

A Jehova's Witness stopped me and a friend last week. It was kinda fun, cus we thought they were all gone, or something, haven't seen them in ages.
We also wanted to cut him off quickly, save his time
So, we did, we quickly informed him he was talking to hardliner atheists, with no hope for any redemption whatsoever. I told him we are good people "deep down". This totally guilttripped him, and he begun assuring us that there was room for us in heaven, despite our atheism :]
We told him to throw God a good word for us.

it amazes people when I tell them I went to private Christian schools.  Church 3 times a week.  Read the bible a few times and I am now an atheist.
They ask, "what happened?"
I tell them, "I PAID ATTENTION!!!"

Alls I do when running into a religious person is point out the fact that the bible was not written by god. they try to skirt around the idea with yet more magical bullshit, by saying "it was divinely inspired, men just wrote it" thats when I politely tell them the conversation is over and leave. You will never be able to win a conversation with somebody that has magical thinking, because everytime you bring up facts, they have yet more magical formulas for their positions. 

The only way I think to combat this horrible shit is too end there tax exempt status. lets use the government against them,

Both christianity and islam have no place in the modern world

Christianity was built on a lie ( that jesus died on the cross for our original sin, and that just believing in him gains you heaven.)

Islam was a creation of the catholic church in the 7th century

So we know that is bullshit

I would say that the good both religions do today outweighs the bad
