Interesting. The closest we have anyway near me is the Freetown Christiania, although there is no farmland there and the Danish authorities don't respect it as a sovereign entity. They raid it for drugs every now and then.

Even if you discount the initial setup that would be involved:  Utilities.  Runoff.  Air and water pollution.  Wildlife.  The potential for fire.  Farm equipment, its maintenance, fuel to make it go.  Or, livestock, and all that will involve (vets, etc).  Internet, if you want it.  You will still effect the world around you and still be effected by it.
