The mystery of the Latin pillow
« on: May 12, 2013, 02:33:38 PM »
I was in Göteborg two days ago and had lunch at Språkcaféet. On a chair was a pillow with a Latin text on it. I could have asked the owner where she got the pillow, but I didn't. Today I googled it. It turns out that the text is from Horace, that these pillows exist all over the world and that they are made in - China!

If I fill my apartment with these pillows, will I become a person of culture and sophistication?   :toporly:

Nope.  You won't be able to move, but you won't hurt yourself if you happed somehow to fall down.

That's true! :cbc: But the pillows will be nice in case I wobble too far forward!  (Or backward.)

There are lots of labels and signs in Spanish in my city, how about in yours?  :orly:

It's not like road signs in Spanish are hard to decipher.

In Sweden almost every road sign is in Swedish. A few are in English and even fewer are in German.
