No, it's British, but i am not a spelling nazi, so don't worry.
Yes i am proud to be British. I won't ramble about our great and long history because i know for every great achievement there is an equal event to which i am ashamed. The perpetrators of such events are almost always upper class or royalty.
So lets just say i am proud to be a working class Brit. The working classes have historically fought against the ruling classes. For every act of oppression, there has been uprising and rebellion.
Present time - I think British people, in general have good humour. A sense of humour has gotten many Brit's through some bad times. We live on a cold, grey and rocky island that is so divided. Rich and poor. North and South. Pockets of Britain live in charmless dwellings packed together like rabbit warrens, and yet i have found real 'gems' of people behind their front doors. People who develop twenty slang words for everyday things. People who laugh at themselves, others, and who find humour in some of the darkest and tragic events. Lots of people laugh here when there is fuck all to laugh about. Sarcasm rules.
