I can't avoid flying so I'm glad I can handle it now.

A good part of my life has been spent watching little or no tv. A place I moved into in 2000 I hooked up free cable to and watched a lot. When that was shut off I paid for cable from 2002 to July 2006 when I got pissed off at the cable company and left it shut off until April 2009. Now I watch a lot of SYFY, Natgeo, Sci, Encore, Starz, IFC and HBO mostly. I like watching foreign films, especially French since I am too lazy to bother with my French lessons or download the Pimsleur Tagalog on my computer. I see bumper stickers that say Kill Your TV and figure motherfuckers who put that on their cars should look after their own lives and not concern themselves with how I waste my time.

If I had the drive to read and study more often I might turn off the cable. Not having tv didn't make me any smarter or a better person. I have done stupid things in years when I watched 40 hours or less of tv programming and I have done stupid things in years that I have watched 1000s of hours. I have also spent 19 hours out of a 24 hour day here waiting for a post to respond to or engaging in useless arguments. I like most of the members here so please don't read any tacit insult into that, a person's time will be as productive as they make it.

I watch very little TV, always found it a waste really. The kid and I have gotten hooked on Storage Wars though...which I consider somewhat "educational" since I am somewhat of a reseller myself...my son gets pissed because I'm ratttling off the value of shit before they do, but every now and then they find something like the chicken glasses I was clueless about.

The value is overestimated quite a bit on certain things...or they get alot more $$ for things out on the west coast.

Didn't see "The King's Speech" on TV though.

I love documentaries by Wouter Klootwijk, love "De keuringdienst van waarden'. I like the history things of Hans Goedkoop a lot. But, for all three, I forget to turn the TV on most of the times.
Sometimes I like to watch Bones or NCIS. House can't get me turning the TV on anymore. But, I forget to turn on the TV for those series too.
Sometimes I watch what the kids are looking at. Snog, Marry, Avoid is funny now and then. Cake Boss makes me nauseous. Thank goodness, my girls can't stand it anymore either.
