What stirred your strong interest in indigenous people and is it mainly just native Americans or does it extend globally? I find the idea of uncontacted ones such as the Sentinelese very interesting.
Initially, as a kid, I became interested because I like nature, life, astronomy, etc....and colonial/globalized cultures were threatening all of the above (astronomy via light pollution)...and indigenous cultures (cultures with an integrated and profound relationship with their environment) naturally intrigued me.
That was when I was a kid though....now, knowing a bit more about the issues, I pretty much feel the same way except I have a side-along interest in culture (in general) and the colonial history of europe esp the roman empire (which survives through the catholic church)...
The interest extends globally. I like humanity...
