Learned a bunch of BBy shite, relating to my new job duties. I am determined to be worthy of my new salary scale.
The day, weather-wise, was incredible and I can understand why we were mostly NOT BUSY at work. I had time to do things that will help me do a better job. There were times when the employees outnumbered the customers - lol.
We also hired seven new people, who started today, to fill positions vacated by those who decided to not stay with the winning team in this economical climate.
I was hornswaggled into introducing them all to all the current employees (hard to do when you don't actually know everyone's names
but I survived, OK. Those who know me (after a year and a half) know that I don't know their names) and starting the FNGs on their way towards "certification" and earning their free uniform to "be like us" for fuck's sake!!
I made them kneel at one point, so they could ALL listen to me and all, at the same time, understand that I will NOT help them fill out their training forms. They are instructed to find the answers from other employees, as an effort towards team building. I HAD to make them understand that I will NOT tell them extension telephone numbers, policies, expectations ... I let them up after they started to struggle against the concrete floor.
The big boss saw this and asked what I was doing. I told him that I was helping them to know how to deal with him.
He laughed.
