got woken up by the little un having a tantrum at 6.30; sorted him out and installed him on the couch with some breakfast; dosed myself with painkillers, drinks and decongestants. Now doing my SAD lamp and trying to come round a bit.

I'm glad the SAD lamp is working out well for you.
I made one which is filtered to 6600K, two thousand watts. (I own several Kelvin scale light meters to ensure this, from my old job.) I lose about six hundred watts or two thirds of a stop (or I could flip the scale over and do candle power if you prefer), due to the filtering, though.
I'm not sure how much it actually helps, but it distracts me, which, in itself, can be helpful.
