Shopping. And I enjoyed it. I mean,
like a moment of complete joy.

I think I'm liking life, for the first time in
a hell of a long time.

Not really. THAT wouldn't have shocked me this way.
I think I started to realize that I am fairly content, AND
there is no great pressing fear in the future.

Hell, even with my wife, I knew that we'd have to
move so she could go to grad school, and that everything
would sharply change, in an ugly manner. Here, I have
to worry about getting really hired, but I think that's going
to happen. If not, not.  I can always find another job as good.

Pretty much, any changes that I see look to be improvements,
and nothing is terribly wrong. Yeah, I get lonely, but I'm used
to that - I almost seem to aim for it.

To me, your criticism of the site falls under the same category as your pseudo-philosophical theories, which smell pretty at odds to the enjoyment of life, to me at least. I don't actually see you outright whine that often - when I've seen it, I've called you on it and you mostly quit.

They aren't. I can enjoy fully, whilst holding them.
Indeed, I greatly enjoy my work, which is very much
like criticizing the site. My philosophy, might seem at odds,
but I can't control some of the base instincts which bring
happiness - things like memories.

Good. I know that I did a bit, when I first got
here. There are things that there ain't much I
can do about it, but I sure the hell don't want to
bring others down with them. Even if I'm emo.

I'd rather bring them down in OTHER ways.

I did this today:
Breakfast, shower, caught bus to Centrelink and got told by them they won't help pay for a course I want to do , went into a shop to buy some orange juice, saw my LAC for a bit, then I walked home. Been on the computer ever since.

It is called MediTrain. It teaches about medical terminology, patient records, stock control and supplies, patient confidentiality and some other stuff. I would really like to do it, it has the option of doing it part-time so I know it wouldn't be too overwhelming. It costs $650 so it will take me a long time to save for it.

But I feel better for it, I have something to do, a goal.

why won't they help pay for the course?
i think that will be good if you can do it
my mum's been suggesting i do a short course before i go back to uni. i think it will help with other problems. it will be good if you find it interesting and have something new to work to

Centrelink won't help with the course unless I definitely get work out of it, they would prefer full-time work. I can't promise them I will be able to do it. If they help me with the course, then I have to come off the pension and that makes things harder straight away. It is pressure on me and I am not so good with pressure like that, especially when it affects how I live (Centrelink has a nasty habit of cutting payments off if they have the slightest reason to do so).

Centrelink doesn't know about me being in hospital and recent diagnosis, so they probably think I am more able at the moment than I really am. I am just trying to be not so hard on myself, I want to be as well as I can get before I plunge into something that will potentially stress me out. Maybe so I have some strength in reserve?

Your mum has the right idea about you doing a short course. Just something to help you get back into the rhythm of going to school and studying, that sort of thing? If you can afford it and feel right about it, then I say go for it Soph.

Is there no option of you doing the course just for the fun of it?   Would you have to start working straight away?

Just watched Enchanted with my sister, it was pretty bad.  Disney will never be the same again
