I shaved Waggy. Mum got electric shears for her a while ago, and I've been gradually getting her used to it. Today, she stood still long enough for me to shave most of her back and sides, and only needed minimal coercion. We have to clean gunk out of her eyes twice a day, and we've trained her to associate it with getting a treat, so that now she'll run down the stairs to have her eyes wiped, and hopefully she'll become equally enthusiastic about getting trimmed. I think she gets quite hot and uncomfortable when her fur gets long, and keeping it short also makes it easier to clean, since she often rolls in fox scat and cow pats.
