I might be a home owner
« on: November 02, 2012, 09:53:15 PM »
Its true. Some guy is selling his mobile home (location withheld.  :zoinks:) in arizona for a resonable price and I will have enough money for it in a few months, This really is going to rule because everything in it is updated. clean, and it has a bit of land it sits on. I really would love to get my fire agate ring made but I need to think about my long term housing situation. Mostly because I'll never have to worry about bitchy landlords, or handing a gigantic testament banner/flag from my porch. renting really can be stressfull

Its out pretty much in the middle of nowhere so thats why its so cheep.  :viking:

Might the mobile home still be available in a few months when you have enough money?   :crossed:

Sounds great if you can get it.

I'd just scope out the area good in my spare time and research, taxes, access to stores, mail, transportation if you need it, crap like that.

Unforseen surprises are not cool.

Is this in a mobile home park, or what?  Park fees can be a bitch; park owners can be bitches.  Utilities and taxes are also something to keep in mind.  Which is not to be a downer- if you thought of all that and it's a good decision for you, that's great.  Just remember even owning a home doesn't mean you actually live for free.

Also prolly worth considering is what the healthcare there is like.

You win this thread because that's most unsettling to even think about.

Sounds great, Richard.  I hope it works out for you, but I agree that you need to figure out transportation, access to stores, and so forth if it's out in the middle of nowhere.

Buying a mobile home isn't home ownership.  It's buying a car that doesn't travel well. :M
