True!
The water had been boiling only moments before, and I only felt a slight sting around my fingers after I had calmed down a bit, after wiping it all up. I gently wiped some of the wet paper on the stingy areas, and it cooled down :M

  I scalded my hands once at home, and minimized the damage by immersing them in
  a sink filled with cold water.  It took a long time to bring down the temperature of the skin.  :orly:
