I tried archery today...

I was shit at it. my first shot didn't even hit the board haha

I had to take my glasses off though as they got in the way, so I couldn't really see very well. it was fun though. would like to have played longer

I like archery also but never practiced enough to get very good at it mostly due to lack of space.  I even took it as a gym class in high school

Me too, though it may have been the medications I was taking at the time. My aim was horrendous. I have taken a lot of meds. Some took away my drawing ability. It was depressing being good at drawing, then not being able to draw a fairly straight line. My hand had tremors.

I'm gonna be trying it in a coupla weeks and a bunch of friends went shooting on Saturday.  I'd say "Oh, what a coincidence," but honestly I'm assuming Hunger Games is primarily responsible for archery suddenly getting more popular/not so much coincidence as trend.

I tried archery when I was 14 and with the army cadets. I was surprisingly good at it and got the highest score. Haven't tried it again since though.

Shot the ex's crossbox yesterday for the first time.

It has a scope though, finding out I can shoot anything decent with a scope.

200 lb draw weight, it's a beast.

I'd like to try a recurve like that, looks fun.

Yeah I am thinking about getting contacts (not just for archery lol, although I would like to try that again if i do)

the frame got in the way when I wore them, and then when I took them off it was too blurry to see properly (could see a big white circle but that was it - couldn't see where the arrows hit, or the centre of it

Contacts are fun. You can use them to get out of class/work/family dinner for 10 minutes if you just say your contact has slipped!

I wore contact lenses for about 15 years. They now make ones you can sleep in. I wore coloured ones from time to time - green, grey, blue and brown. You can probably get more colours now. At first I wore contacts that lasted for about 2 years and I had to clean the protein off them every two weeks with a special tablet dissolved in solution. Then I switched to disposable contacts which get thrown away after two weeks. They were much better.
