The thing about explaining your own personal religious views  -  i gave up.  It is pointless.   Even if i could make a winning case and convince someone that i am right to be a non believer -  what is the point?   To believe something with any real conviction i would have arrived at my conclusion after digesting information from a variety of sources.  Not just because one person can give a plausable set of reasons.

If i managed to put my opinion across and it actually made someone alter their beliefs i would know that it would only be until someone else came along and did the same thing.  It would have to be someone with a real weak mind,  and where is the win in that?

all she needed was some logical connections she was simply unaware of untill then.

but i was very surprised, at how she actually paused herself, to consider what i had just explained, and went "hm... that actually makes sense."

but she is still religious of course. in norway even religious people accept a lot of science, because they regard god as "watching over" the laws of science, such as evolution.

The other reason i would no longer bother with arguing about my own non existent faith is i have noticed it often brings comfort to a lot of people.  I wouldn't want to take that away.  They say ignorance is bliss.

that is also a factor. i wont blindly try to "liberate" people from religion. i dislike richard dawkins quest for such, and ive often expressed my frustration with him and his likes.
what they dont realize is, religion wasnt pulled out of some hat, or invented at some scam-convention. it is a part of human nature, and thats why its there, just like dick-jokes, theres a very plain reason they exist in every culture on earth: theyre natural. religion is natural.

it simply is... well... a bonus... to know how things really work. and it is simply not fair to impose this on those who feel safer with their faith
