What's a Gurka?

Soldiers from Nepal who serve in the British Brigade of Gurkas. They are scary fuckers - Twenty six of the Victoria Crosses handed out have gone to Gurkas. They are also known for their big fuck off scary knives kukris. We only take 270 of them a year, though tens of thousands apply - it's a cultural thing, and not being selected is a big blow to the applicants.

They do not surrender, they do not retreat and they are excellent at infiltration, too. The British soldier who held a position against a dozen Taliban with just his LMG, who threw his tripod at one of the attackers? Gurka.
