I've not looked at the video, but I understand the purpose (or at least one of the purposes) is to help catch him.  Riiiight, like I'm going to see him at the local WalMart.

a hell of a lot of views

And in such a very short about of time, I call bullshit on it. Some vested interests are inflating the view count.
Existence actually has two broad meanings despite its apparent meaningless. The constant reconciliation of all its parts, and the conservation of any closed system as a whole.

Morality can be extrapolated from these meanings to make these two commandments of godless morality: 1). Be in harmony with one another and 2). Care for the environment.

Apparently there's a lot of evidence pointing out that there's a lot of misinformation, the company being shady etc.

Personally I don't buy it, just another "non-profit" organisation wanting to get money by exploiting white guilt.

That's what I thought when I watched the video. Something felt off about all of it.

the dude's a pain in the ass tho. for africa, like a lot of people are, in africa.

theres a long list of looong lasting issues in africa,
ended issues, like the sierra leone, liberia and other nearby civil wars all tend to last for ages
the somali civil war is 20 or 30 years old,
the sudanese civil war was over 60 years, and in western sudan fighting and massacres still happen like they always have
unmentioned in the kony movie, a lot of his goons have spread into congo as well, adding to a whole new continuing chapter to the allready decades-long congolese civil war in the jungle (which has allready claimed between 3 and 4 million lives)

kony's army is, according to approximates, not much bigger than a thousand troops, which is... well... nothing

i dont know what to think of all this.
1. no nation will react, unless it becomes necesary to do so. in africa, powerful neighbors have found an interest in military intervention, such as ethiopia in somalia, and nigeria successfully ending the liberian civil war (a true success-story, ignored by the world)
2. these rebel forces are sparsely manned, terribly equipped, and often have no strategical or tactical training whatsoever - hell, they fight in sandals - at best, sometimes in clown wigs, high on coke, having just eaten a human liver to gain immortality, put shortly: ANY european task-force could eliminate these armies.
in one rescue mission, british soldiers landed in liberian jungles, in the middle of an enemy base, killed everything that moved, and rescued the hostages. this event is barely known by anyone, but again goes to show just how easily it can be done to pit well trained commandos against drunken rebel rabble.

its the ultimate apathy, it could be SO easy, so quick, but these issues easily go ignored for decades at the time, with horrific death-figures mounting up

and like the video correctly points out, the only way to make a power care, is to make the issue beneficial for this power to tend to. good deeds for the sake of goodness will never happen (never did, never will), burma learned that the hard way, as they naively hoped for international intervention some years ago.

i end up just feeling sorry for those locals, who get their hopes up and stuff. hopefully this stunt will actually work, precisely cus it seeks to exploit the "need factor" of a power, to make it "need" to deal with an issue.
