I agree.  He seemed to be hoping not to have to commit to this for fear of alienating some of the voters, but decided he would alienate even more voters if he didn't.

I'm conflicted on this... gay rights is a big deal to me but I find it hard to believe in such a prominent politician suddenly embracing it like it was always the right thing (which to me it is), whilst his potential rivals oppose it and he himself did too not so long ago for religious reasons. it;s just about who gets the most votes. I'm american but I live in the UK now and I don't care to vote here either because it's the same story as far as i can see.
