Wine is one of the few types of booze I absolutely CANNOT even force down. I can't bear the filthy fucking stink of wines, champagne etc. I could, if push comes to shove, say, if I was in agony, had no painkillers (has happened once before, drank an entire bottle of wiskey to dull the pain of a massive dental abscess) etc.
Vile, but wine is an abomination. I've tried to drink it before, and if I can force it past my sense of smell, my throat literally closes up, and I gag, or even puke at the slightest hint of the taste.
Going to pour myself another liter jug of cherry coke, once I grab some more ice cubes, I've been terribly thirsty of late.
Although my veins are about to drink something else. Namely a mixed shot of oxycodone (120mg) and clonidine, not decided how much clonidine to bang yet, I figure I'll have 50mcg each via the sublingual and intravenous routes.
Ew. Wine. It is truly fucking awful stuff.
I've only ever managed to drink some maybe twice in my life, when I was just a kid, and there was nothing else to get rat-arsed with.
Oddly, as soon as I was old enough to buy alcohol, it lost much of its attraction for me. I rarely ever get drunk. I do drink to the point of a nice warm glow and a moderate level of intoxication, slight ataxia and myorelaxation at most.
Not really meant to drink on chlormethiazole, as the two interact and grossly potentiate each other. The label on the bottles say 'do not drink alcohol'
But I can safely drink a moderate amount. I always pace myself if I am drinking more than a couple of shots, pints etc. and drink slowly, so I can gauge the level of interaction/intoxication the two produce when acting synergistically.
Not really much of a drinker. I tend to drink just occasionally. Although if I buy a bottle of vodka, I generally only get 3, perhaps 4 glasses out of a bottle. (a standard 70cl bottle that is). I just use a big glass. Typically I'll drink like that, and then not buy any more EtOH (solvent grade for lab use excluded of course) for quite some time, unless I decide that I fancy a few beers with my food, or something to chill with while I put my feet up and relax
