with a generous amount of cream.
I gather Americans have cream with their hot drinks. In Australia, we just have milk. I have never tried tea or coffee without milk (except iced tea which isn't really iced, it is just cold). My Nanna used to drink her coffee black with no sugar, blech.
People here who like their coffee light usually use half-and-half in their coffee, but people who like their hot tea light usually just use milk. Hot chocolate is usually made with milk and chocolate, but sometimes people put a little whipped cream on top.
I like cream in my coffee, but I like my hot tea plain.
Hot tea plain, as in no milk added?
I have tea every morning with milk and sweetener (not sugar). Earl Grey. Or sometimes English Breakfast. I also like lemon tea. Not really meant to have that with milk but I do anyway.
I very rarely have coffee, usually it is in the form of a cappuccino when I am out. I have had chai latte once, my mum convinced me to try it, it was strange.
