Gross. Whiskey is one of the relatively few alcoholic beverages I just can't drink. Like wines for instance.
Currently I'm having nice wee nip of Lamb's navy rum with fizzy limeade to wash it down before I go to smoke my pipe, before I to bed. Earlier, I was drinking Foster's lager. Got 4 of the big pint cans. Nothing like a cold beer in terms of thirst-quenching drinks. I find that beer is the most thirst-relieving drink going.
I love my hot food, as people know well here about me. And beer is the perfect accompaniment. Especially for one of my absolute favourite menu items from the local chinese takeout, the huge king prawns in black pepper sauce they do. I can cheerfully munch through 3-4 portions of those in a sitting. Lol, its not been unknown, for me to buy myself a £30 chinese, made up solely of said king prawn dishes, get myself a 6 pack of beer on ice and devour the lot in one sitting, with a bit of egg fried rice to finish, and to top it all off, some dark rum, or maybe vodka (prefer the navy rum though), for a good ol' depth charge for the palate before pudding, to cleanse the fire from my mouth.
(when the chinky takeout warns 'caution, spicy' about those prawns, they mean it. Always they make my eyes water, and set my tongue ablaze. Which is just how I like it.)
