Have you seen these backpack safety cages for pets that can allow you to bring out delicate animals for an outdoor trip?
I know the cat one works great and she really enjoyed her trips out and away from normal routines. She would actually come and get me and sit in the cage when she wanted to head out.
 

A guy in our neighborhood used to walk a big giant white bird in a thing that looked like a baby stroller retrofitted with a mesh enclosure.

Yep, walls are painted, floor has been laid. Finally finished.

We need to buy new shelves. The ones we had in the lounge room didn't take too well to being moved and then being exposed to dampness. So they're all wobbly. They were cheap ones so it was to be expected. I'm hoping we can afford better quality shelves. Kayleigh asked me to have a look at the Salvos yesterday while I was there. But no, they didn't have anything.

I have a box or two of my belongings out there and there are books too but most of the rest is Kayleigh's.

Not quite. There's still boxes outside that I can't bring in because of Kayleigh's crates of junk. There's six of them and she needs to sort them out but won't because of inertia. I tire of all the work I've had to do but i have a lot more self discipline than Kayleigh does.
