Never done the ton on a motorbike, and this doesn't count here, but did own a moped (Honda SS 50/we illegally boasted to 80cc) years ago that did 110.. km/h.. and yeah, rode that fast several times when I was 16~20 y/o. 

Yep, okay, not the same thing but the sensation of riding the thing that fast could be quite a similar experience (, I suppose).

My fast driving days coincided with the speedometers on most cars in the US only going up to 85MPH the van I have now only goes that high also. So how fast I was going was always somewhat a mystery.

My first car (mom's 1977 Saab) had a speedometer that went to 120.

I don't know about 120, but it could do 100 and the protective pan in the front made for a better off-roading experience. :zoinks:

Once when I still drove fast  I  was driving a Ford E350 van the speedometer only went to 85mph which if was a clock would have been at 4 o'clock I got needle up to about 630. Not sure how fast that was but it would not be possible in my current van as there is pin to stop the needle

Very brave, (or stupid....) not having the weight on the machine you were riding to handle that speed.

Well, there were moments I did some stupid stuff riding mopeds, sure, but I only fell once with a moped in those days. That was when I rode on a gravel surface (freshly laid there) going through a sharp corner. I slipped and opened up my right leg, ruining my trousers.

Maybe there were a few minor accidents I've forgotten about but nearly always I was quite a sensible moped rider. Didn't always ride max speed too.. that only would shorten the life of the one cylinder motors that were already p/m 20 y/o. 

Never been caught by coppers either. They tried but I always out-sneaked the 'moustaches'. :LOL: Even in this city of utter morons those fuckers, 2/3 years ago, couldn't catch me on my moped that doesn't go any faster than 55 kms. 4/5 police vans were chasing me and I out-played them again.

Aah, thinking about this makes me smile/laugh a bit. Riding a motor bike or moped tend to always be fun.
