I have no idea.  My experience so far is in insurance law.

I would love to work for a non-profit like the ACLU, but by the time I graduate I will owe $140,000 in student loans and non-profits can't pay a living wage when you have that much debt.  This is why lawyers are expensive.

Indeed.

How long until you graduate, if I may ask?

3 years if I move to the sticks and go with the full-time day program, in which case I have to quit my job and try and figure out how to raise 2 kids and go to school full time on about 1/5th of my current salary.  The ABA does not allow first year law students in full-time programs to work.  No money but lots of time with my kids.

4 years if I stay where I am and do the part-time evening program while maintaining my job.  Decent money to live on and I see my kids in passing for 4 years.

Haven't made up my mind yet.

I was accepted into my first choice as well just before Christmas.  Was given a $15,000 grant, but won't have scholarship info until March, which is bullshit as my second choice already granted me $12,000 in scholarships taking the total tuition down to just over $30,000.  My first choice needs to come in with $35,000 in scholarships to match price, but I doubt that will happen and there is more to the decision than price.

It sounds like a hard decision and I wish you well.  Has the  :bonnet:  arrived yet?

Good luck to you as you make the difficult decision which one to attend.

For those of you who didn't know/remember his wife is having a scheduled C-section.  She isn't in labor for the next 42.5 hours, for which I know she is eternally thankful.

Yes, price aside how much difference is the choice of schools likely to affect employment prospects and earning potential? 5 to 8 extra years of paying off the additional schooling costs will be time lost in funding retirement.
