yeah, pretty much nothing on except sport, sport, sport and sport for the rest of easter, except for The Ten Commandments, a 2005 version which seems to be a two part series, shown over sunday and monday night, starring someone called Dougray somebody.

Hmmmm, here it's films films films so far.  No idea if that's going to continue.  Only saw one Jesus thing; some old 70's 'sand and sandals' movie that held my attention for a whole 5 seconds, but there was a 'Merlin's Apprentice' thing that was good.

A secular aspect of religion:  Peeps.

Where ma Peeps ate?  The poor bastards.

Oh, and you can make peeps battle one another!  Take two Peeps and stick a toothpick in each of their beaks, then you set them facing each other in the microwave, and start cooking them. The first Peep to poke the other Peep with his toothpick wins the Peep war, or, alternately, the first peep to explode loses.

Could they even show The Passion of the Christ on television? I'm surprised. I thought that on TV it would be butchered beyond all watchability.

The Ten Commandments was on TV tonight (or last night) where I live. I caught the last half hour.

oh? what was the 10 Commandments like? the bit you saw, anyway.

Here's the fuller online listing for The passion...I didn't even read it, I only saw it in the short guide format, so I didn't realise it was commercial free and uncut! That could be a first for Australian tv, or pretty rare for drama anyway. Not that I think it's a great movie. I was glad when it was over on DVD. I think I even fast forwarded some of it.

I only saw a bit of it in religious education class when I was 12.  The singing priests with the hairy chests and medallions made it look like a gay porno.
