The EASTER thread.
« on: April 12, 2006, 09:38:39 PM »
Well, (in case the heathens amongst you don't know) this is the time of year when our boy was tried, fried, crucified and ROSE AGAIN. For those who never read books it was rather poorly depicted in Mel Gibson's catholic extravaganza The Passion.

so...I'm not sure how I will be remembering this solemn event, I tend to do what I feel like on the day/s.

What about you lot.... buying easter eggs and going away for a few days?

What are your holyday plans?

Living in a seaside/tourist/retirement town as I do, this is one of the busiest weekends of the year. We get swarms of tourists down here, they have 'collectors fairs' and antique car shows and junk like that. All the fun of the fair. What goes on in your town? Any classic Jesus movies on telly?

Maybe I'll buy a box of peeps or something, easter or the day after when I see my mom.

Other than that, no celebration.

isn't that the inscription over jesus' head, on the cross?

i'll google it to be sure,  but its been years and years, though i grew up in a christian home.  went to a private christian school from 2nd grade thru high school (except junior year at public school.)

also read the entire bible numerous times (excluding numbers) and at one point had the entire book of 1st John, commited to memory.
this should be in the randome truth thread.

kinda sheds some light on me.
Misunderstood.

I'm Not Really Injured?
I'm Not Resurrecting It?
Irritating Narcissist Riles Infidels?

 :P

edit: my suggestions are less boring though. do i get points for blasphemy?

"Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews."

Hence where the name Rex comes from: King.

And everyone who watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade should remember that I is used where J would be in English.

Well I just checked the tv guide for today (good friday), and they've scheduled a lotta blockbusters,

We got A Passage to India as the daytime movie, only 4 hours long with ads, but I haven't seen a Judy Davis movie for ages (seen it before, years ago), so I might have a look. I think it's kinda like the time I went to Vietnam, all heat and noise and people who stand too close to you.

Then at 8:30pm we got Gladiator on one channel andGenhis Khan on another, then finally at 10:30pm we got The Passion of the Christ

There's so much bullshit on this site today, I don't think I can cope with it. I've got enought bullshit going on IRL.

It's Easter?  I was wondering why there was decent crap on the TV for once.  :-\
