West Virginia has a bad rep because it lies totally within the Appalachian Mountains (read: full of Hillbillies)

Oklahoma got a bad rep in the 1930's during the Great Dust Bowl. Thousands of Okies left Oklahoma and went to California looking for work in agriculture.

I have gotten the impression that Vermont people have a reputation...
Don't get me started on all that sucks about Vermont.

I will.

Please, by all means, tell us everything that sucks about Vermont.

As a West Coaster, I am woefully ignorant, could use some enlightenment over here.  ;)

Yes, West Virginia has a bad reputation :) I was born in West Virginia and lived there until I was 13 years old :D

It isnt just that it is "the south" or is "Appalachia". Cause even other southern states in Appalachia look down on us. Why ? It is a very poor state. Almost everyone is white. Almost everyone is stupid. It is a haven for rednecks and the kkk. And they talk about 5 times slower than the rest of the country. I fucking hate that place lol.

Nope, it's still a horrible state.  Is he a skinny, submissive hick who's skiied since he was five?  :P

Curious now. Have you lived there? Though I actually don't know what state you live in at the moment.

parkersburgh ? that's lame. It's actually not that far from where I live right now. I was born near charleston. It's like a whole other universe.

I love, love, LOVE those mountains, what gorgeous views you have there!
It really is almost heaven, just as John Denver sang in that song!  :harp:
